The French fire-fighters use Motorola technology for fire prevention. By installing video cameras on towers, that can take 400 panoramic images every minute, and using Motorola Canopy technology for sending the images to the monitoring centre, the French fire-fighters have decreased the number of fires in a fast, cost-effective and efficient manner.

The Swiss Federal Police have used Motorola Mobile AFIS for country border control during UEFA 2008. The cantonal police and border service have the possibility of taking finger prints using the standard PDA device with Motorola AFIS software which is connected to finger prints reader. Once a finger print has been taken, it is transmitted through the wireless network and compared and checked with the existing AFIS database.
